On Saturday, November 7, 2026, our community will gather once again at beautiful Neptune Park on St. Simons Island for the Golden Isles Alzheimer’s Walk — a powerful morning of remembrance, hope, and action.
This inspiring, family-friendly event brings together neighbors, businesses, caregivers, and friends from across Glynn County and the surrounding Golden Isles to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.
💜 Why We Walk
Every step taken on Walk day represents someone we love.
We walk for the spouse who faithfully holds a hand through every stage.
We walk for the adult child navigating hard decisions.
We walk for the neighbor, the teacher, the veteran, the friend whose memories are slowly fading — but whose life and legacy still matter deeply.
Funds raised from the Golden Isles Alzheimer’s Walk directly support:
Local families through programs provided by Memory Matters, a local independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit offering education, counseling, support groups, social engagement activities, and resources — all free of charge.
Research efforts at the Goizueta Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center at Emory University, one of the nation’s leading centers working toward better treatments and ultimately, a cure.
Together, we are making a meaningful impact — both here at home and beyond.
